Read on below for our review of four strains from this British Columbia based dispensary:
Strawberry Cough (80 Sativa/20 Indica)
The marijuana strain Strawberry Cough from BC Weed Express had a sweet, strawberry taste, which sometimes lingered behind in my mouth after smoking or vaping. It had a strawberry, berry and sometimes earthy aroma. Like the taste and smell, the strain had some similarities in appearance to strawberries. Its dense buds were coated in dewy, red trichomes like that of the strawberry fruit. The heavy trichome coating was a sign of the strain’s potency even though the buds were small.
When combusted, the strawberry flavored smoke was thick and could make even long-time smokers cough. Newbie smokers should curb their enthusiasm with this one, so they don’t turn their smoking experience into a horrible fit of coughing.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, it produced heavy vapours that would also made me cough. It had a sweet berry taste that filled my mouth, enhancing the vaping experience.
Strawberry Cough didn’t only smell and look good, it had wonderful medical and therapeutic effects as well! As the strain was Sativa dominant (80% Sativa and 20% Indica), it gave me an invigorating head high that made me feel uplifted-almost euphoric- and relaxed. It did not give me coach- lock like some other strains would and so it was perfect for smoking during the daytime.
Moreover, this strain can be used to help treat a variety of symptoms and conditions, such as (but not limited to): fatigue, appetite loss, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, glaucoma, migraines, nausea, chronic stress, inflammatory diseases, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
Purple Candy (50 Indica/50 Sativa)
While there are some uncertainties, it is believed that Purple Candy is a hybrid between Purple Wreck and OG Kush with a crossing between Godzilla Grape. Others say it is a mix between the strains Mendocino Purps and BC Sweet Tooth, which the strain retained much of their genetic traits.
The look, smell and taste of this strain made it obvious why it was named Purple Candy. It had large flowers and a green, sticky coating with beautiful shades of purple. The tips of the nugs were completely purple and were covered in sparkling trichomes. It had a taste akin to grapes and other deliciously sweet fruits.
When combusted, the smell of Purple Candy was just as fruity as its taste. It wafted around my room in a way that heightened my smoking experience. I experienced a wave of pleasant sensations when I smoked this strain that made my entire body go into a state of deep relaxation. Purple Candy was also guilty of making me sleepy, so be careful of daytime use. In addition; if you don’t watch yourself, you may end up eating a good chunk of what’s in your fridge or worse, at a fast food restaurant. Beware of the munchies!
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, Purple Candy gave off a healthy dose of vapour but it was not overbearing. The aroma given off when vaped was sweet too, it is only a little less pungent than when smoked.
Furthermore, this strain can be used to help treat a number of symptoms and conditions, including (but not limited to): lack of appetite, insomnia , stress, chronic pain, glaucoma, migraines, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory diseases, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
Many times, people turn to traditional prescription drugs that can have harmful effects on their bodies over time. Likewise, some persons become addicted to dangerous drugs like opiates. Instead of using these kinds of drugs, Purple Candy is a wonderful, natural alternative.
Sour Tangie (80 Sativa/20 Indica)
An award-winning strain, Sour Tangie from BC Weed Express was created by DNA Genetics out of Amsterdam. It is a hybrid between the popular East Coast Sour Diesel and Tangie strains.
Moreover, It retained its parents’ aroma and taste. It smelled of citrus, which often lingered as an aftertaste when I smoked it. It had the quintessential Sour Diesel smell and Tangie’s powerful citrus aroma. In addition, BC Weed Express’ Sour Tangie strain had medium-sized nugs that were grape in shape and green in colour with purple hairs and a fine body of trichome coating.
When combusted, this strain had a diesel smell that intensified as I smoked. With a high THC content level, Sour Tangie gave me an amazing body-buzz, that made me feel grounded and motivated to do great things or at least finish that week’s to-do list.
Furthermore, the elevated state I was in made my mind feel void of all worries and instead I was feeling happy and thinking hopeful thoughts. While I did not experience that all too-captivating coach-lock, the relaxing effects of Sour Tangie may make your bed seem just as attractive at 2 PM, as it is at 2 AM; if you let it.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, big puffy clouds enveloped my room with pleasant fragrance without making me cough. As I continued to vape and experienced the high, I felt energized, which made me productive.
Sour Tangie is relatively easy to grow and grows quite fast during the vegetative state. It completes flowering between 9 and 10 weeks when grown indoors. It is good for making concentrate as Sour Tangie’s terpene makeup makes it easy to extract.
Moreover, this strain can be used to help treat a number of symptoms and conditions, including (but not limited to): fatigue, stress, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, loss of appetite, chronic pain, muscle spasms, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, nausea, migraines, inflammatory diseases, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
Fruity Pebble had a delightful mix of flavours that included berry, sweet and citrus that reminded me of having Fruity Pebbles cereal as a kid. It had a pungent, fruity and dank fragrance. It had a light shade of green with pretty, dewy crystals. Different phenotypes may have purple or red hairs, with tight buds.
Furthermore, because its aroma was so obvious, I opted to smoke this strain in the privacy of my own home and you should too; especially if you live in a country with strict cannabis laws. Fruity Pebbles’ delicious smell and taste alone would make any avid marijuana smoker call it a favourite of his/hers.
When combusted, the delectable aroma swept me away into a blissful world. I was both stimulated and relaxed. The smoke was not harsh but its high THC levels had me floating after a while. It was definitely a potent strain. I felt animated when smoking Fruity Pebbles and was laughing at everything and nothing with my friends while playing some fun childhood games.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, I experienced pretty much the same effects as when smoked. You may get a little urge to stay in the coach for a bit too long, but its unique genetic makeup was stimulating enough that I did not feel too lethargic. This is definitely a strain I would vape and smoke with friends again.
It had a yield of 18 ounces per plant when planted outdoors and 16 ounces when planted indoors. It had a flowering time of 8-9 weeks and could be harvested by the end of December. An autoflowering plant, it grew to over 2 meters tall and had a high resistance to pests. It was a bit difficult to grow this plant so doing so should be left to veteran weed growers.
Moreover, this strain can be used to help treat a number of symptoms and conditions, including (but not limited to): insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, pain, stress, migraines, glaucoma, inflammatory diseases, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
