Purple White Lightning AAAA (90 Indica/10 Sativa)
A relatively rare variety, usually only found on the West Coast; Purple White Lightning is a phenomenal indica dominant hybrid. Its lineage comes from a careful balance of other West Coast favourites including White Widow, Northern Lights #5 and a hint of Purple Kush. It’s these colorful strains that have brought out some exciting physical features in the buds themselves.
The nugs of BC Buds Medical’s Purple White Lighting were a dark purple shade, streaked with bright sugary stripes of crystal. These stripes are what give this strain the “lighting” portion of its name and are one of the more colorful and densely packed nugs you’ll come across; thanks to its well-bred parent strains.
When combusted, Purple White Lighting was pungent and skunky. It burned a bit harsh, as many skunky strains do. Furthermore, the undertones were fruity and sweet; enough to counterbalance the sometimes, raspy nature of the skunk profile. The smoke from one puff of Purple White Lighting was enough to clear the room; be prepared to vape if discretion is needed.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, the sweet underbelly of the strain really shone. Vaping cut through the harsh pungency and allowed the more muted flavours to come alive in my mouth. Those flavours included, the tones of delicious fruits, sweet berries and a seductive and subtle earthiness. Moreover, the vapour produced from Purple White Lightning was equally as thick, as if you were going to smoke it from a blunt.
Purple White Lightning from BC Buds Medical was potent and as such, it was the perfect strain to induce a state of calm. Due to its supremely relaxing nature, this strain can only be recommended for nighttime use. I quickly found myself falling into a blissful state of happiness before falling to sleep with this indica-dominant strain.
Furthermore, this strain can be used to help treat a number of symptoms and conditions, such as, (but not limited to): multiple sclerosis, insomnia, appetite loss, fibromyalgia, migraines, nausea, chronic pain, inflammatory diseases, chronic stress, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
Jack Herer AAAA+
Developed by Sensi Seed, Jack Herer is the namesake strain of the well-known cannabis activist who passed away nearly two decades ago today. Jack Herer AAAA+ from BC Buds Medical has a powerful lineage, built off a strong sativa. Its other components come from two indicas, Shiva Skunk and Northern Lights #5. It’s long been one of the go-to strains in popular culture.
Jack Herer AAAA+, like the man himself, shouldn’t be underestimated. The large buds were loosely packed, with a delicate sprinkling of crystals across the light green leaves. This Jack Herer strain also had a full head of rusty red pistils, tucked nicely in between the buds.
When combusted, Jack Herer had a spicy, and herbal flavor profile. A simple squeeze of the bud itself tickled my nose with more lemon and citrus scents, but when smoked, these developed into deeper, sage-like flavors. It was a smooth smoke, which produced not-so opaque clouds. Look elsewhere if you want to smoke out your neighbours.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower, the already muted flavors diluted further. Still hints of citrus and lemon, thanks to the limonene and pinene terpenes, but overall Jack Herer had more herbal sensation when vaped. The vape cloud was more discreet than some other strains on the market.
The Jack Herer strain is one of the most popular strains on the West Coast because it tends to produce a gentle more functional high with limited come down. It was an upper, not a downer, usually favoring a happy and bubbly experience.
Furthermore, Jack Herer AAAA+ from BC Buds Medical can be used to help treat a number of symptoms and conditions, including (but not limited to): chronic pain, fatigue, nausea, glaucoma, inflammatory diseases, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed).
This strain a relatively potent sativa dominant strain tested to have 18 to 23 percent THC, but with a small level of CBD to balance it out. The CBD profile of Jack Herer helps to even out the high for anyone looking to treat anxiety or other mental illness.
Lemon Thai AAA (60 Sativa/40 Indica)
A Dutch Flowers hybrid, produced from globe-trotting parent strains including a Thai sativa landrace from Afghanistan and a tasty Hawaiian mystery strain. Its origins are a closely guarded secret, but this sativa-dominant strain is a carefully curated cross nevertheless. Some strain experts believe the Thai strain was developed to grow within a Hawaiian environment.
Lemon Thai AAA, from BD Buds Medical, had buds that were small, round, curly masses of trichome clusters. Deep forest greens, frosty crystals, and thin, fiery red pistils were the most visible physical features of this unique hybrid. The plant itself is beloved by outdoor growers for its massive yields of small nugs.
When combusted, the most dominant flavor was a potent and zesty lemon. Bright citrus and black tea were the secondary scents associated with the Lemon Thai strain. The lemon and citrus hit my taste buds first, followed by a lingering taste of bitter lemon, an earthiness, Thai tea, and, sometimes, mint flavour.
When vaped with the Arizer V-Tower the citrusy sweetness really came through. A much smoother experience with less of the lemon pepper or Thai tea flavour, than when rolled into a joint or packed into a bong. Vaping Lemon Thai AAA from BC Buds Medical elevated the citrus and lemon profile and subdued the sometimes harsh, bitter tea flavor.
Although this was a sativa dominant strain, Lemon Thai did not trigger the usual, mental frantic side of other potent sativa strains. It was a powerful creative tool for the artist or entrepreneur, boosting mood, reducing stress and promoting deep conversation. A perfect day-high for social situations; as this beautiful strain had all the positive qualities of a sativa, but with much more relaxation.
This strain can help to treat a variety of symptoms and conditions, such as (but not limited to): fatigue, ADHD, fibromyalgia, nausea, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, PTSD, inflammatory diseases, appetite loss, depression, anxiety and/or other mood disorders (as directed). Lemon Thai, while a sativa dominant, still carried enough indica qualities to sooth the traditionally indica related issues like chronic pain, inflammation, and neurodegenerative diseases.
OG Kush Rosin (55 Sativa/45 Indica)
Rosin has become popular in recent years as it is a completely solventless way (just heat and pressure), to make the resinous material from cannabis into a semi-liquid, shatter-like substance that retains many more flavourful terpene profiles.
The OG Kush Rosin from BC Buds Medical was an exquisite, gooey, sappy, sticky, aromatic, translucent and dark brown concentrate. There was a light, herbaceousness; as well as, a cinnamon sweet spice fragrance as we opened the container to the superb looking rosin.
When vaped with the APX Wax Pulsar, the vapour produced was smooth, copious, thick, rich and heavy; tasting strongly of a light, sweet and herbal spiciness. The spiciness was more specifically; a light and subtle flavour of spicy pine, that ran as a pleasant undercurrent throughout the flavour profile.
BC Buds Medical’s OG Kush Rosin, produced a strong euphoria, followed by a potent couch-lock effect; as well as, a relaxed, happiness that would be perfect for afternoon or nighttime use. Do be warned: OG Kush Rosin produced severe pangs of hunger; have healthy snacks on hand! This medicine can also be used to treat anxiety, depression, appetite loss (obviously), glaucoma and nausea.
