Best MOM for Refined Tastes and Hard to Find Strains?
This will be a complete review of Kootenay Craft and four of their select strains. From the very start of my experience with them, they had extremely professional customer service. Their website was easy to navigate and they answered all questions I had promptly and professionally. Their product was delivered within three days. The labelling was specific and listed the strain’s main features such as the percentage of indica/sativa and the THC concentration of the flower. The weight of the flowers were all accurate, which is always something we like to see. Packaging was discrete with no possibility of odors with vacuum sealing and the package fit inside a standard mailbox, so no waiting in line with the package delivery slip!
The strains we are about to review are almost exclusively available through Kootenay Craft and include Hawaiian Haze, Twisted Citrus, Dark Angel and Jager. These strains are all what they describe as, ‘platinum quality’, highly sought after, and notoriously hard to grow.
Hawaiian Haze
Hawaiian Haze is a great daytime sativa dominant hybrid strain. When opening the container, we were hit with a fresh, sweet smell, almost reminding me of freshly cut hay, but a deliciously sweet smell nonetheless. The bud itself felt light, airy and well cured. We both smoked and vaped Hawaiian Haze to give you our impression of how the flower performed.

Hawaiian Haze (70 Sativa, 30% Indica, 24%+ THC)
When smoked, the aroma and taste of the smoke was pleasant and it was smooth going down. I was impressed with how this flower smoked, but wow; I was stunned at the taste and flavour when vaped. I have vaped for quite a few years now, and I have to say that Hawaiian Haze has a unique sweet taste that is very pleasant to vape for long periods. It was almost like smoking hookah (in regards to a flavour profile I could similarly compare it to). The high of Hawaiian Haze is great for daytime use. It keeps you uplifted, relaxed and it even made me more talkative, so anything is possible! One thing is for sure, if you want a unique vaping experience that you could enjoy as much as a cigar, this strain is for you.
Twisted Citrus

Twisted Citrus (50% Sativa, 50% Indica, THC 24%+)
Next up was Twisted Citrus. As the name implies; tropical, orange aromas erupted as soon as the canister was opened. The buds from this strain were huge, well cured, densely packed, resin-coated monsters. The smoke from the bong caused a tickle in my throat when combusted (no cough though!) and the vapour from the Arzer V-Tower was rich, aromatic (hints of orange) and full-bodied. The high was upbeat, euphoric, energetic and a great daytime sativa hybrid. It felt very calming as well, with none of the negative effects that can often plague sativas, such as paranoia. The taste was sweet and pleasant, and the only negative point we have about this strain is how much more of it we wanted to smoke.
Dark Angel
If you would have told me ten years ago that I would be describing marijuana like others describe wine, beer, and cigars to a national audience, I would have scoffed. Weed is weed, right?

Dark Angel (50%, 50% Indica, THC 18%+)
Wrong. Dark Angel is another amazing, exclusive strain of Kootenay Craft. Dark Angel is an even 50/50 sativa indica split hybrid. The smell is pungently sweet with lemon, with an earthy nutty undertone. The flower was dense, well cured and had large crystal trichomes coming off of the bud when viewed up close. When combusted, the earthy nutty tones shined in the flavour of the smoke, reminiscent of coffee. When vaped, the lemon sweet can be tasted first, followed by the dry earthy nutty flavour. The vapour was rich, smooth and packed full of complex flavour profiles. Dry mouth was an issue with this strain, so have water on hand. The high was deeply cerebral and introspective, be prepared to not do anything too important, this flower packed a deceptive punch that wasn’t felt immediately. It was a creeper, and once it crept up we were couch-locked for a while. This strain is a must have for customers who have a more refined taste and appreciation for the craft behind such complex flavour profiles.
Jager

Jager (20% Sativa, 80% Indica, 23%+ THC)
Lastly, we come to the Jager strain. Named after the famous German licorice liqueur, Jager packs a powerful pungent aroma that contains earthy pine, licorice and lemon. The medium and small sized bud were rich, well cured, tinged with an under-hue of purple and finely coated with beautiful crystal trichomes. The bud was resin coated in sticky goodness that made it a little hard to push through our grinder; so be sure to stick to small pieces when grinding this strain up. When combusting, Jager produced rich bellows of flavourful smoke, but be warned, this strain can burn if taken in too quickly or deeply. When vaped, the vapour was full bodied, and contained an earthy woodsy flavor profile with hints of the licorice. This strain was a very pleasant vaping experience. The high was mellow and relaxing, great for an afternoon or evening full of unwinding.
